Constance Perez; Soprano
Constance is an Arts Student currently studying politics and will major also in economics. She is a proud French Londoner (and won't like it if you assume she comes from Paris just because she speaks French !). Her passions are both philosophy, and music. She has learnt to play piano from the age 4 to 9, sung since she learnt to talk, and learnt the cello and has been practicing it since the age of 9 (Grade 8 level). She has been part of various choirs and schools of music, such as London Youth Choir in the UK, Dakoda's Dance Academy, and les Fous Chantants/Chœur en Fête in South of France. She loves to talk to anyone, and about anything that comes through her mind! She's able to philosophise everything, which can be at the same time interesting or weird! The québécois accent will still always make her smile a little, and she hopes she will get used to it soon!
Maddie Brenner; Soprano
Madeleine Brenner is in U0, and undeclared in the faculty of arts. She enjoys hiking, traveling, biking, and spending time with her family. She loves performing, and has been in various musicals, plays, and choirs since she was in grade school.
Megan Noseworthy; Soprano
Megan is a third-year English: Drama and Theatre major at McGill, double-minoring in Gender, Sexuality, Feminism, and Social Justice Studies, and Italian Studies. (Yes, it's a mouthful. Please don't ask her what she plans to do with her degree.) Originally from the small town of Summerland, BC, she loves the freedom of city life here in Montréal, and the innumerable opportunities that come with it. Megan sings soprano, and is honoured to be acting as Chrome’s VP Internal this semester. She adores puppies, is a huge musical theatre nerd, and can generally be found either eating or watching television/movies (most likely both). Megan is beyond ecstatic to be a part of Chromatones, and looks forward to rehearsals every week! What do the French call a really bad Thursday? A trajeudi.
Maya Lewis; Mezzo-Soprano
Maya Lewis is a second year urban systems student at McGill. Originally from Vancouver BC, she is absolutely loving life in Montreal and especially in Chromatones! Maya has a special place in her heart for the performing arts and has been onstage since high school in pantomimes, musicals, show choirs and dance groups. Her pastimes include socialising, sketching and looking for four-leaf clovers.
Tara-Lynn Chandran; Mezzo-Soprano
Tara is a third year Arts student at McGill studying sociology and political science from Markham, Ontario. Tara has been singing since she was 3 years old and has performed in several theatre productions, her favourites of which include Legally Blonde, Fame and A Chorus Line. When she is not singing, Tara loves binge watching Netflix and eating lots of good food. She is thrilled to be singing with the Chromatones who are not only an amazing singing group but have also become her family at McGill. Why was the musician arrested? He was in treble.
Katharine Mulderry; Alto 1
Katharine is a U3 student studying economics and the Earth's environment with a minor in Anthropology. Katharine loves to sing and does so everywhere she goes, which warrants a lot of “why are you singing” and “ma’am please, it’s two in the morning and this is a library, you need to leave.” Other than singing Katharine loves to watch a whole lot of television and movies and then quote them back to you as if they were real life. She is ECSTATIC to be in Chromatones loves every second of it, and truly doesn't know what she is going to do without these people when she graduates in the spring. What do you call a snobbish criminal going downstairs? a condescending con descending.
Mekayla Forrest; Alto 1
Mekayla is in her second year at McGill studying microbiology and immunology, and is so happy to be a part of the Chrome family this year. She grew up in Vancouver and enjoys all the greatness the west coast offers, from skiing and hiking to spending time with her amazing doggo. Other than her love for singing, she also enjoys playing guitar, watching The Office and Friends repeats on Netflix, eating bagels, and telling (really) bad jokes. Here’s one now: whats green and says “Hey! I’m a frog”? A talking frog!
Emily Kendrick-Brajou; Alto 2
Emily is in her last year at McGill studying History and Latin American Studies. She is happy to have been part of Chromatones A Cappella since her first year! Emily grew up in London, UK and is half British, half French. Emily has taken part in many different choirs and was in an a cappella group in high school. She also plays piano and violin. To sum up: she loves music and singing!
Ellie Reynolds; Alto 2
Ellie is a fourth year in the BA Environment program, and she's minoring in Poli Sci. She likes ferrero rocher and the smell of a good bookstore. if you need to know more about her you can always ask, as she is usually friendly and only smells bad after it rains. thanks!
Jad El Tal; Tenor 1
Hailing from the lands of the Middle East, Jad has live in three different places: Dubai (born there), Toronto (more like GTA), and Beirut, Lebanon. Jad is a U4 Joint-Honours Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies student. He started singing at the crisp age of 5, and has since transformed from a lil Soprano to a Tenor (has he though??). Being the "grandfather" of the group, Jad has a lot of love for Chrome. He thinks that you should definitely download our album on Spotify and iTunes! Joke: Why can't ghosts have babies? Because they have a halloweenie.
Cathal Rynne; Tenor 2
Cathal is a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at McGill who uses his passion for music as a creative outlet to a busy schedule. Born and raised in Bermuda to an Irish family, his hobbies include listening to musical theatre cast recordings on repeat, appreciating terrible jokes and teaching people to pronounce his name. Once kicked a football into a basketball net from across the court and thought it was pretty cool.
Joey El-Achkar; Tenor 2
Joey El-Achkar is a first year Arts&Science student taking Biology and Art History as major concentrations. Regarding his origins, it's pretty chaotic: His mum is African-Lebanese and his dad is Canadian-Lebanese; so does that make him African-Canadian-Lebanese? Who knows. One thing's sure: he's originally from Lebanon. His passion: Music. Joey has lived a pretty active childhood when it comes to music: he's been in choirs, he's won competitions and he's travelled to represent his country in music festivals during the past 10 years. He's also been devoted to opera for 4 years, and took piano courses for 6 years. Regarding his hobbies (other than music): Joey likes to read, to write, to watch glee (Gleek #1) and to play video games. Now that Joey's a tenor in Chromatones, he spends his days bragging about his a cappella group, already referring to them as his Family.
Arjun Gupta; Bari/Beatboxer
Arjun was born and raised in France. He is half French, half Indian and has been to India on numerous occasions. After doing a first year in Scotland, he transferred to McGill and absolutely loves it here. Arjun is studying Computer Science. He is dedicated, patient, and perfectionist. He is also starting to enjoy writing about himself in the third person. He complies with many of the snobbish French stereotypes, such as not drinking wine that does not come from France, saying too many times “In France we […]”, and complaining about not finding (non-expensive) good cheese. He enjoys all sports in general, and plays the Saxophone. Arjun is tremendously grateful and proud to be in the big Chromatones family. “Why can’t bicycles stand on their own? Because they are two tired.”
Nabeel Khan; Bari
Nabeel is in both his fourth year at McGill and in Chromatones. Originally born in India, he moved to New Hampshire at a young age and has been chasing the American Dream ever since. He's studying international development and economics. In his free time he enjoys bodybuilding, reading, and counting calories.
Matthew McLaughlin; Bass
A New Brunswick native, Matthew is in a first year BCom student who intends to major in Strategic Management. In the past, he has been a member of several choirs and has played roles in numerous musicals; he is a bass singer. This is Matthew’s first time singing in an a cappella group, and he’s excited for the challenge!
Brock Jenken; Bass
Coming from the countryside of Denfield, Ontario (he usually says London), Brock “that guy from Pokémon” Jenken is a U2 biochemistry student despite his father’s wishes for him to become a dairy farmer. Coming from a family of six children and four parents, Brock has been involved with music heavily through his life, performing with London’s Amabile choir, preparing for his ARCT in piano performance, and singing with Alzheimer’s patients under London’s Alzheimer’s society. When not rehearsing with his fellow Chromies, he enjoys photographing pretty much anything, devoting unhealthy amounts of time to video games, and long walks on the beach. Being one of the few people at McGill who lives on a dairy farm, Brock prides himself in his ability to imitate Holstein cattle, drink ungodly amounts of milk, and identify types of crops. What do you call a cow that doesn’t give milk? An udder failure.
